Independent money guidance for every Filipino family.

The Insurance Master is an independent digital magazine on insurance, investing, and estate planning for Filipinos, founded by Merald Ayson, CWP®, CEPP™.

Only about 1.8% of the Philippine economy is insured (Insurance Commission, 2025). That leaves millions of families one illness, accident, or loss away from financial hardship. We started The Insurance Master to change that with clear, honest, expert-written guidance.

What we believe

  • Protection comes first. Before you invest, make sure your income, health, and family are protected.
  • Independence matters. We are not a captive agency and we don’t work for any single insurer. Our rankings and reviews are based on data, not commissions.
  • Plain language wins. Insurance is full of jargon. We translate it into decisions you can actually make.

What we cover

We publish in-depth guides across nine topics: life insurance, health & HMO, car, home & travel insurance, investing, retirement, financial planning, estate & legacy planning, and independent company and plan reviews. We also cover Insurance 101 basics like the Insurance Code and your rights as a policyholder.

How we make money

Our guides are free. We keep them independent by being transparent about every way we earn:

  • Paid planning services. Merald offers fee-only consultations, from policy reviews to estate planning. See services.
  • Advisor partnerships. Licensed advisors from different Philippine insurers pay a flat monthly fee to be part of our partner network. When you ask to be matched, we introduce you to a partner who fits your needs. Partner fees are never based on leads or policies sold, and we never receive commissions on insurance you buy.
  • Affiliate links. Some links to banks, e-wallets, and money services are affiliate links, clearly labeled. We may earn a fee if you sign up, at no cost to you.
  • Advertising, if and when we run it, is always labeled.
